Nov 28 2019 - Thanksgiving - Went to the Ramos'. Watched football. Played with their dog. I forget his name but he's a bulldog.
Nov 29 - Went to Watercolor FL with the Toomey's. Played in the surf all day. Played flashlight tag at night. Drank a mojito. Remembered last one I had was in Tower 2 at the Greatest Bar on Earth Sept 11 2001 2am. This one wasn't as good. Rode in a jacked up golf cart on sandy roads. Wifey did 5 weddings/photoshoots in Nola instead.
Dec 3 - Gigi presented her group assignment on the Pyramids at school. All the parents came. She made a beautiful sculpture out of sugar cubes and rubber snakes and sock puppets. It took her a long time.
Dec 4 - Went to Hutchs friend's house w his own batting cage. And pitching machine. Played with lightsabers. Too cold to swim.
Dec 5 - Hutch (8) had second baseball practice. Impressed the coach. Made new friends.
Dec 6 - Flew to NYC. Saw the Nutcracker at Lincoln Square. Had the best seats in the house. Hutch fell asleep halfway thru. Had to keep waking him up. Gigi (11) was enthralled. Saw the Natural History Museum. Went to Strawberry Fields to see the Imagine circle. So many people there. Took a pic of Gigi with it. Will explain it to her later.
Dec 7 - Next day toured Manhattan on a red double decker bus. It had earbuds playing Billy Joels NY State of Mind. Took a few extra earbuds to give to my students. Saw Ground Zero and the Freedom Tower. It looked small. Saw Statue of Liberty from Battery Park. Also looked small. But was far away.
Dec 12 - Practiced baseball alone w Hutch at the Fly. Had whole field to ourselves. Found a ball trapped in the netting. Hutch improved in catching and throwing.
Dec 13 - Gigi got on the Honor Roll. Put her certificate on the fridge.
Dec 14 - Hutch played his first baseball game. Hit two home runs his first two times up at bat! Then he hit a double, going 3 for 3. Played left field then 3rd base. Went to a birthday party for 3 kids at once. Virtual soccer. Talked about the duct-taped banana that sold in Miami for 120k with an insider. Did not talk about kids in cages.
Dec 15 - Went to church, then to a potluck and made plans to go bowfishing. Then went to a cookout at Jimmy's. Kids asked me twice to swing them and I kept putting it off til it was too late. Will go there tomorrow to do so. (Was coordinating a new film on my phone.)
Dec 16-25 Had SIX Christmases. Kids got all they wanted. Got jewelry for wifey. Gigi got her first commission and painted a beautiful cat painting.
Dec 27 - Skeet shooting in MO with friends. Tried out 10 different guns and crossbows. Then went 4 wheeling.
